After U.S. Withdrawal, Gulf Will Be 'Under the Siege of the Islamic Revolution

Al-Sharq Al-Awsat Editor: After U.S. Withdrawal, Gulf Will Be 'Under the Siege of the Islamic Revolution and Under the Pressure of Syrian Meddling'

In an editorial titled "[The] American Withdrawal and the Second Stage," published October 9, 2007 in Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, editor Tariq Alhomayed warned of what might happen after the U.S. withdraws its forces from Iraq. He argued that Iraq would be taken over by Iran and Syria, which are seeking to dominate the Middle East, and that the result would be the spread of extremism and violence throughout the region.

Remember, Mr. Greenspan correctly identified that Saddam posed a serious threat to the world’s oil supplies. Think it’s going to get any better?

America Cannot Survive

America Cannot Survive

[i] “In his book, The End of Sanity, Martin Gross writes that 'blatantly irrational behavior is rapidly being established as the norm in almost every area of human endeavor. There seem to be new customs, new rules, new anti-intellectual theories regularly foisted on us from every direction. Underneath, the nation is roiling. Americans know something without a name is undermining the nation, turning the mind mushy when it comes to separating truth from falsehood and right from wrong. And they don't like it.' ...Before you claim to be a champion of free thought, tell me: Why did political correctness originate on America's campuses? And why do you continue to tolerate it? Why do you, who're supposed to debate ideas, surrender to their suppression? Let's be honest. Who here thinks your professors can say what they really believe? It scares me to death, and should scare you, too, that the superstition of political correctness rules the halls of reason. You are the best and the brightest. You, here in the fertile cradle of American academia, here in the castle of learning on the Charles River, you are the cream. But I submit that you, and your counterparts across the land, are the most socially conformed and politically silenced generation since Concord Bridge. And as long as you validate that...and abide it...and you are- by your grandfathers' standards-cowards....If you talk about race, it does not make you a racist. If you see distinctions between genders, it does not make you a sexist. If you think critically about a denomination, it does not make you anti-religion. If you accept but don't celebrate homosexuality, it does not make you a homophobe."

Individual Discrimination

Discrimination according to Webster is - the act of discriminating or the process by which two stimuli differing in some aspect are responded to differently.

Even though every person discriminates every day the word discrimination has almost become taboo. From your choice of ice cream at the market to whether you should cross the street during busy traffic you are comparing 2 or more options and making a choice. You are discriminating.

If a segment of our society declares that it’s not ok to question or engage in intelligent analysis of some subject then you will be accused of suffering from some form of –ism or –phobia and the questioning or analysis is consequently regulated by this harassment and threats. This is a slowly learned societal behavior which can be observed in other societies throughout history.

Categorical Discrimination (the ultimate taboo)

As this blog’s name affirms I am a conservative with a conservative agenda which is, according to my perspective and millions of other Americans’ a good, just and common sense agenda based on well documented historical and contemporary proof.

Islam has not been hijacked by “radicals”. Al-Qaeda & the myriad of other terrorist groups do not take the scripture of Mohammad out of context. They are practicing their religion precisely as their prophet instructed it should be practiced here, here, here and here. Some of those who strap bombs to themselves and blow up innocents may be mislead and desperate but, they do so willingly nonetheless.

From the Qur'an:

[Sura 9:29] You shall fight back against those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the Last Day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His messenger [Mohammad] have prohibited, nor do they abide by the religion of truth - among those who received the scripture - until they pay the due tax, willingly or unwillingly.

Are there comparable passages in the Old Testament of the Bible? One could argue yes particularly in Joshua, Leviticus and Deuteronomy. However, today not all Muslims are terrorists but the overwhelming majority of terrorists are Muslim.

Does this declaration make me Islamophobic? Phobia means fear and I am not afraid of Muslims as I am not afraid of Mara Salvatrucha or MS-13. I am simply well read and therefore aware of the danger that strict adherents to Islam pose to America and Western Civilization.

[ii] ‘Of course, some may argue that whereas conservatism and liberalism are ideas, Islam is a religion, and while one can attack ideas, one must not attack religions. It is, however, quite insulting to religions to deny that they are ideas. Religions are certainly more than ideas -- they are theological belief systems -- but they are also ideas about how society should be run just as much as liberalism and conservatism are. Therefore, Islam, or Christianity, or Judaism, or Buddhism should be just as subject to criticism as conservatism or liberalism.’

During the past 3 years I have clung to the hope that a moderate Islam exists. During the past 3 years I have poured through the Quran, the Hadiths (the required narrative for an understanding of the Quran) and many essays from Quranic scholars and ex-Muslims such as those from Islam Watch and I have found nothing less than clear direction to those whom we refer to as terrorists to proceed as they do.

This is not to say that there are no moderate Muslims but, moderate Islam while being practiced in accordance with the vast majority of Mohammad’s teachings does not exist.

I have conversed with numerous Muslims via blogs, email and other internet forums. Some are knowledgeable and honest in their understanding of the reality of the teachings of Mohammad. Others are recent converts with stars in their eyes and a warm fuzzy bunny understanding of Islam. I am currently engaged in a dialog with an al-Qaeda sympathizer who is unaware of my knowledge and is making the attempt to convince me that American foreign policy; particularly in the Middle East is the cause for Islamic attacks. It is interesting to note is that he uses precisely the same language as the liberal/”progressive” Left here in America.

I am well aware of the grievances of the Middle Easterners and I acknowledge the truth of their grievances but, I don’t try to understand the legitimacy of those grievances. One must ask why America and the American CIA have done what has been done in the Middle East. Have we faltered? Yes in some instances but, “all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” ~ Edmund Burke

Many Islamic apologists on the internet such as Islamonline.net attempt to demonstrate how peaceful Islam is by declaring that foreigners must be protected as written by Dr. Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, an Islamic scholar and one of the most influential clerics in Sunni Islam and among Islamist organizations. Al-Qaradawi is also a faculty member of the Michigan-based Islamic American University, a subsidiary of the Muslim American Society. Al-Qaradawi is also active with the Muslim Brotherhood.

In the above article Al-Qaradawi insists that if foreigners are given a visa to enter a Muslim country, ‘it is obligatory upon Muslims to protect all foreigners who enter Muslim territories through a Security Pledge’.

Dr. Yusuf Al-Qaradawi has also declared that, "Allah Almighty is just; through his infinite wisdom he has given the weak a weapon the strong do not have and that is their ability to turn their bodies into bombs as Palestinians do".

Dr. Yusuf Al-Qaradawi has been referred to as a moderate by many in America.

For a comprehensive list of more of Dr. Yusuf Al-Qaradawi’s “moderate” declarations see Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi: Theologian of Terror - In His Own Words.

So many of us wish that the moderate Muslims would make their voices heard. The only problem is when prominent Islamic moderates do speak out and make themselves known, ties to terrorist organizations and anti-American/Judeo-Christian rhetoric is almost always revealed. The rhetoric is always given authoritative weight by Mohammad’s teachings.

Until Americans seek and find the truth about Islam that is required to have the stomach and stamina to confront the long war on global Islamic aggression, the Islamists will progress in their jihad against the West.

Many of the liberal,” progressive” Left also claim that Islamic aggression is due to American foreign policy, President Bush and Iraq in particular. This claim is intellectual dishonest in the very least. If this is the case then these apologists should be made to explain why in 2007 alone Islamic Jihadis have killed 15,549 humans injured 2850 others in 33 different countries. [iii]

Take the above sentence and look at it thusly: In 2007 alone Christians have killed 15,549 humans injured 2850 others in 33 different countries. What reaction would the world and the American Left in particular have to that statement? Rest assured that they would not hesitate to condemn all of Christianity. CNN and MSNBC would be straightforward in their coverage and would not blur the lines of truth.

Muslim and non-Muslim apologists alike are making an attempt to convince the West that Jihad means inner struggle or personal struggle such as this explanation from Submission.org: ‘The Jihad involves noticeable effort for righteousness. This means that the effort concentrated in the Jihad is a step in the true and ultimate path of Islam (submission); the effort imposed on one's self. Thus Jihad is solely individual, self-centered and self-interested. This effort is only the doing of good for salvation and pardon of God.’

Similarly Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf means My Struggle.

Wordplay by Islamic apologetics are refuted by reality. Those inconvenient numbers again: in 2007 alone Islamic Jihadis have killed 15,549 humans injured 2850 others in 33 different countries.

Until Americans as a majority can openly acknowledge this truth and speak this truth without the fear of being labeled as racist, bigoted or Islamophobic America Cannot and Will Not Survive.
